Rowing in Iraq

June 2011 - June 2012

After reading about Iraqis who risked their lives rowing on the Tigris, two Americans set up a camp on the glacial Lake Dokan in the north of the country to help revive teh sport which had been bombed out during the Iraqi wars.  The upshot for the Iraqis was training for the Asian Games alongside the US national team in Princeton.  Rowing in Iraw tells their fascinating stories.
